Commissions: Memory Glass

Creating unique glass keepsakes, fusing ashes in glass, is one of the most privileged services we have the pleasure to be able to offer our clients.

Words can never describe losing a loved one. And remembering a loved one is an important and personal emotion for everyone. Being able to create unique glass keepsakes, fusing ashes in glass, is one of the most privileged services we have the pleasure to be able to offer our clients.

The very first time we were asked to create a special piece of jewellery incorporating cremation ashes into the glass, made us feel this was an important service we could provide for clients.  The emotional response and meaning that that pair of earrings engendered was very special to witness and we knew it would comfort our client for a very long time.

Since that moment we have been fortunate enough to create a custom-made range of our memory glass for clients. We are also able to create striking fused glass wall panels, a variety of glass vessels and a wide range of jewellery, including our one-off hand-made glass lampwork beads which all combine ashes within glass which we can then set in sterling silver or gold at our Studio in Dorset.

Please do contact us and know that we will work with you with warmth and empathy.

The gallery above shows some of the recent pieces of beautiful memory glass jewellery we have made with care and compassion for our clients. Each individual piece of jewellery is designed with and for you.

Our prices vary from £45 for simple stud earrings with ashes encased within the glass, to more elaborate pieces of jewellery that are priced according to the design and making process and the precious metal of choice.

Wanting a torc of great emotional importance, Gail came up with the perfect piece for me.

It was executed beautifully and was everything I hoped it would be.

Beautiful! So delighted. I’m going to wear it all the time.

So beautiful! Quite took my breath away.

We so love Gail and Ian’s jewellery and glass pieces, so many of our friends have said how beautiful they are and we always give them your details.  I cannot think of anyone I would rather have doing my memory glass for me, thank you so much and for being so lovely about it, it really does mean the world to know they are in such great hands.

When my partner died of cancer last year, I felt lost and a need to have a part of him close to me. Memory glass beads made for my bracelet by Galiani Glass has made that happen. Gail & Ian are so helpful during a difficult time showing respect and empathy for your grief, but also happy to help you choose a precious item for your memories.

Dorset Scenes Window Insert

Our clients had seen us at an event the previous Year and they had a creative idea for a set of windows they felt we could bring to life for them. They called to arrange to come to the studio to chat about a possible commission of a series of four handmade windows to adorn a pair of interior doors accessing the living room.

Silver Wrist Torc Memory Glass

We were first approached to consider producing one of our handmade memory glass pieces on the anniversary of a beloved brother’s passing. Several family members came to see us to discuss options and what was possible.

Flame Glass and Metal Garden Sculpture

When the call came from the client it was to meet up and see whether we were the right studio to consider for a glass and metal garden sculpture that they had been thinking about for a few years. It wasn’t until they saw our glass that they were struck that this was the medium they wanted in the garden.

Isle of Wight Splashback

Our clients met us at Mudeford Arts Festival and loved our work. They had not long had a new kitchen fitted and were looking for just the right design for a splashback. When they saw our glass, they knew immediately that our fused glass panels were the way to go and went home to work out the size panel they would like.

DECO handmade glass splashback

We were asked to make one of our handmade glass splashbacks to compliment not just a new kitchen and some of the interior styled furnishings but also the very Art Deco inspired building. We followed up with a meeting to talk over the images, materials, design possibilities and getting to know and understand what options we could explore.
